So sad to learn this location is CLOSING SOON‼Make sure you get there before the doors officially close in the next few months.
THERE IS GOOD NEWS THOUGH‼ They have another location 4508 Cass Street, San Diego, CA 92109
The food does not disappoint and every employee I have interacted with has been so friendly and awesome. We have friends and family that drive down from Temecula to get the best Mexican food in San Diego.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 21, 2023Previous reviewStill the best place in San Diego to get the best Mexican food! **CASH ONLY**
The same guys are always there, working hard, and making the best tacos and burritos! The Cali Burrito and Carne Asada Fries Burrito are the best in town (the carne asada fries is my absolute favorite!).
CALI BURRITO:
* carne asada
* potatoes
* egg
* cheese
CARNE ASADA FRIES BURRITO:
* carne asada
* fries
* cheese
* sour cream
* guacamole
The hot sauce is out of this world (they offer both red and green). The carnitas tacos are incredible and the shrimp tacos are refreshing with a spicy kick.
We don't live as close anymore, but willing to make the drive the get the incredible, fresh food! We always get the food to go, but they do have a table just outside of the front door, and around the back they have a covered dining area with a few tables. It's a quick trip to the beach so take your food to go and enjoy at the beach!Feb 9, 2019Previous reviewThis place never disappoints! Same staff has been there for years. The best Mexican food in San Diego! Cash only (which means the food is obviously bomb!).

The great burrito-off...
So, one of my favorite things to get in PB when I come home is a giant burrito that has carneasada, eggs, potatoes, cheese, and double guacamole. Our favorite place closed down, and taco surf was a big fail. (Sorry T.S.) I did some research on Yelp and found two places that I thought might have what I wanted. Los Dos Pedros (which actually has this item on the menu called a California burrito) and La Perla, (where I thought I would have to try and create it but I heard they had great tortillas so why not try).
We stopped into la Perla first, an unassuming taco shop nestled by once great, now crap, Linda's donuts, and a liquor store. The guy at the counter looked at me dubiously as I told him I wanted to create my own burrito, but as soon as I started describing it he exclaimed "steak and eggs!" And they quickly threw it together for me. Much to my tasting companions chagrin I made everyone wait to eat till we had both burritos in hand. (Luckily, they had wrapped my heavy ass burrito in foil so that it survived the trek to taco shop#2) we wrote la Perla on the bag, and stopped into los dos, on turquoise, ordered the same thing, (here I just had to add extra guacamole to a cali burrito) and we were off to the beach.
My son and I knew right away that the La Perla burrito was our winner. The potatoes were burnished, the guacamole was bright and deep green, the long strips of meat were delicious and oh my, the tortilla. It's everything you want in a burrito tortilla, slightly chewy and stretchy, soft till the last bite.
In contrast the los dos burrito felt rushed, the potatoes were cooked but not roasted brown, the guacamole was light green and not to our liking, and the meat was cut so small it felt like it had already been chewed.
I STILL can't believe that my 75 year old mother liked this one better, but she swears she did, that the La Perla tasted "off" to her, so we called her nuts, and let her eat that one while we happily and hungrily devoured the la Perla.
Both burritos were huge and heavy af, and cost about 14 and some change (18 with tip which I definitely feel is the key to getting a delicious burrito)
My son and I are 100% team La Perla. And my mom is 100% team Los Dos.
Double guac is the reason they're so expensive, but it's also the key to the most deliciousness.
Viva La Perla!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 1, 2023
Phenomenal burrito spot in PB, with the added pro that the prices are great and portions are large. The fish burrito and chile relleno burrito are my go tos. The ingredients are always fresh and tasty, such as crispy fish.

Not good! The chicken in the chicken burrito made me sick and had a weird taste. The customer service was extremely friendly, the meat just didn't seem fresh

Little tiny place in La Jolla. First time here and I'm a fan. Knowing Mexican food it's hard to find a good place to my standards at least :)
I tried the Carne Asada Fries, yummy! They also have zanahorias en vinagre which can be bought separately.
The only thing I would say, is regarding the salsa or hot sauce, they have green and red. I usually go for the green one which in this case I also did I just wish it was a little bit thicker.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Matt V.San Diego, CA4101Oct 23, 2023
Delicious, well priced, and quick service! What more could you ask for from a taco shop?

I've been here several times as it's in my neighborhood and never been disappointed. It's my go to for a great meal at a good price. The tatortot breakfast burrito is everything you need the morning after a night out and probably the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. The pollo asada burrito is also delicious. I haven't tried many others yet.
I had a friend visit for 3 weeks while working remote and he went to this place almost every day for some meal, it's just that good. There's a reason it's been here for 40 yearsHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 21, 2021
I was super excited to try Los DOS Pedros... 4.5 Stars on YELP!
Los DOS Pedros is located in Pacific Beach area of San Diego. I found it one day on the DoorDash app, so I figured - WHY NOT try it?
One of my friends is a big taco fan, so we are always on the hunt for some good tacos. We ordered the following:
- Carne Asada Tacos
- Lengua Tacos
- Fish Tacos
- Chips & Guacamole
Flavor-wise, I felt like it was more Mexican American. The lengua meat wasn't soft. It wasn't really satisfying... I ended up looking for more tacos for dinner.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Muk N.San Diego, CA12971Mar 25, 2023

CASH ONLY!
We stopped by this place because 1.) we were waiting for our order from Oscar's and 2.) I was craving carne asada fries. The fries did not disappoint! They load it up with cheese, sour cream, meat, and guac. It doesn't come with pico de gallo, so make sure to ask for it if that's something you want! They also give containers of red and green salsa on the side. The portion is pretty large, and more than enough for 2 people to share. Overall, great place for a quick bite to eat and solid carne asada fries- nothing to complain about here!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
